PRESERVE, PROTECT AND ENHANCE BATIQUITOS LAGOON

PRESERVE

Maintain all elements of the Lagoon and its associated watershed and habitats in a manner most useful to the native flora and fauna.

PROTECT

Watch and analyze all activity taking place near the lagoon and within its watershed to assure no damage will be incurred by the lagoon due to those actions. Use public outreach and political means to maximize the environmental and recreational value while minimizing the negative influence and effects of development.

ENHANCE

Lead efforts to eliminate invasive plants and related efforts to restore habitats to their natural state. Provide Educational programs to interact with people of all ages and raise conservation awareness. Ensure that the trail, benches, and other facilities near the lagoon are attractive and functional to maximize the pleasure of users.
