Docent-Led Walks

These are easy-to-moderate 1-hour walks with stops along the way to point out interesting flora, fauna, geology or insects. They occur at 10am on the third Saturday of each month from the Nature Center.

Private Docent-Led Walks

Walk topics are general lagoon history, native plants, birds, fish and animals, Native people who lived here and wetland protection. If you want a docent who is a subject matter expert on a particular topic you can request one and we will check their availability.  Private Docent led Walks are $25.00 per person, with a minimum of 4 people. We recommend children should be at least 6 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. Payment can be made at the Nature Center before the walk starts with cash or card.  Please include the requested date, time and number of people for your walk request, as well as your name, email and contact number. If you are a guest staying in the area please list your hotel name.

Children's/School Walks

Children's walks are offered for groups such as scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other children’s groups. These walks need to be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Walks and topics will vary depending upon the needs and size of the group. To schedule a walk, please send us an email with the following: group name, headcount, date, time and contact person.
